KINGFISHER CANOE CLUB
A fun club for adults, mostly recreational canoeists. Meets first Wednesday in every month
at the Cherry Tree, Steventon, for a beer and a chat. Paddles on
Wednesdays when light and waters allow, at Sutton Courtenay, Abingdon Weir or
Thames backwaters - meet at club hut (shared with Abingdon Rowing Club). This is
in Wilsham Road, at about 1830 hrs. Gear available for beginners. Canoeing
standard is high, but relaxed.
Trips organised to big white water in Wales,
Scotland and overseas. Events of a more touring nature are frequently run.

BANBURY AND DISTRICT CANOE CLUB Based on the Oxford Canal at Cropredy just north of Banbury. The main focus is flat water paddling including marathon, sprint, and touring. There is also some Wild Water Racing. It is a family orientated club and all are welcome regardless of ability. Adult Novice coaching is on Wednesday evenings: club sessions and junior coaching is on Thursday and Sundays. Race training is on Thusdays and Sundays. mornings throughout the year paddlers may be found on the local waters. Weir
bashing and slalom practice is a favourite. Trips are planed and run to bigger

WANTAGE LEISURE CENTRE The pool has six polo boats and a number of other BATS. The Pool is available for hire, but mainly when nobody else wants it i.e. Sunday early evening. During school holidays short courses are run for children. Phone the centre 01235 766201. |
