KINGFISHER CANOE CLUB
A fun club for adults, mostly recreational canoeists. Meets first Wednesday in every month at the Cherry Tree, Steventon, for a beer and a chat. Paddles on Wednesdays when light and waters allow, at Sutton Courtenay, Abingdon Weir or Thames backwaters - meet at club hut (shared with Abingdon Rowing Club). This is in Wilsham Road, at about 1830 hrs. Gear available for beginners. Canoeing standard is high, but relaxed.

PATHFINDERS YOUTH CANOE CLUB
A junior club [under l8] loosely attached to the KCC. Meets Monday nights in Summer 1830 hrs. Wilsham Road Abingdon, to paddle local Thames. Meets occasionally in winter for Wantage pool sessions. Oxford County Council Authority sponsored outdoor activities club based at Donnington Bridge. Lock your car wel1. Recreational canoeing base to activities. The only local shop for canoe gear is attached to the club bar and change rooms. Courses run for all ages. Has interest in open canoeing. Whitchurch Road, Pangbourne. Good facilities , fun atmosphere and well run. An impressive centre with a wide range of gear and very large all round programme of activities and courses. BANBURY AND DISTRICT CANOE CLUB
Based on the Oxford Canal at Cropredy just north of Banbury. The main focus is flat water paddling including marathon, sprint, and touring. There is also some Wild Water Racing. It is a family orientated club and all are welcome regardless of ability. Adult Novice coaching is on Wednesday evenings: club sessions and junior coaching is on Thursday and Sundays. SCOUTS AND GUIDES

They run trips and provide training all through the year. From May -September meet Monday evenings rear DHQ Springfield Road 1800 hrs. for a splash and a laugh on waters within a 20 mile radius. ADD HOCK PADDLERS
Most Sunday mornings throughout the year paddlers may be found on the local waters. Weir bashing and slalom practice is a favourite. Trips are planed and run to bigger waters during the winter. Each year a few surf trips materialise. A good contact is Roger Wiltshire Tel 01235 768429.

WANTAGE LEISURE CENTRE
The pool has six polo boats and a number of other BATS. The Pool is available for hire, but mainly when nobody else wants it i.e. Sunday early evening. During school holidays short courses are run for children. Phone the centre 01235 766201.
WHITE HORSE LEISURE AND TENNIS CENTRE ABINGDON
There are six General Purpose boats available and two especially made for less able paddlers. These are mainly used by the centre to run courses. Phone the centre 01235 540700.
